Being Human

Being Human
is being human. Just the basic of it that each living person on this planet is first & foremost a human and the human race should value this and every individual should treat another individual a human alwayz.

Being Human---- A phrase now turned into a brand by Mr. Salman Khan holds lot of sense actually. In these  madenning and conflicting times it holds even more sense and asks each of us to understand the term, live thru it and spread the soothing & comforting fragrance of it.  And Salman Khan deserves kudos for using the concept and making it a brand. It also says a lot of things about not the star value, the contoversial  facet of Salman Khan but of his inner voice, of his soul and of his thought process. Being Human means being considerate, being considerate means of being aware of  & sympatheitc to others feelings. . It also means for not disecting, dividing, cutting the human race into hundreds of sects in the name of Religion, colour, cast or creed. It purely and solely stands for being human.

I vividly remember & recall my growing years in a hostel in one of the finest schools of India in those days - being a Military School. Am really fond of recalling the hundreds of moments of those glorious formative years of mine and do take a lot of pride about the legacy that I carried from those years from my school and my teachers, my school friends, my environment.  It was primarily a boarding School run by Indian Army and u had to take good competitive exam thruout the country for seeking admission for a very limited no. of seats available. And that was the best part. Over 300 odd students hailing from different parts and corners of the country from different backgrounds joining together entering as  tiny tots and going out in the world as proud citizens of the world. The school, its pattern, its teachers taught us the basic value of Being Human. We were so many children from so many social and religious sects speaking so many languages from the nooks & corners of India. 3 of us used to share a room together for 1 year. Next year different set of 3 students were put in a room and so on. . And that was it. I do very much remember that we were either so innocent or were consciously taught that way that we never ever even dreamt of diferrentiating one from another on the basis of any so called religious or social sects or class. We used to quarrel and play together as any other bunch of children, but never did we conciously thought of differentiating one from another on these grounds as we see around ourseleves in the urban as well as rural India in these times. For us students all festivals whether Eid or Deewali or Holi or X-mas meant just the celebration, the holiday masti and bada khana- good food that we would be getting on the festval days. How beautiful our world was then and how beautiful our formative years were...

Though a very emotional and homesick child in those years, I now am thankful to my parents that they sacrificed their love of me  by sending me to the School. It was because of that, that  I  imbibed the values which run thru my veins and can really be called the very basic values of- Being Human. I can never ever think of differentiating human beings in the name of religion, cast, colour etc. This very thought pains me a lot. And I continuously ask myself how can we do that. How can we??? How can I think of myself being  somebody belonging to some colour, religion, cast, social sect and then start differentiating people, and then start thinking of  my colour, my religion, my sect, my cast being superior or better from that of the other people of different colour, religion, cast, or whatever.. It is disgusting for me. I m a human. It is just by virtue of my birth that I came into being classified as belonging to some religion, cast or sect.. how does it matter to me.. How does it make me superior or inferior to someone or anyone... Honestly speaking till date I have not been able to believe in any such countless classification  and sects that we have put human race in. I really dont take pride in being belonging to any such sect... For me all such sects shouldnt have existed at all.

But yes I do take pride in Being Human. It is a very broader term. And the need of the hour is to start using and chanting it as a mantra  every now and then on every formal and non formal gathering and start believing in it. For it is this matra that can be instrumental  for bringing peace , unity and prosperity in the world. It is this mantra that will bind people together. And  I do firmly  believe that  in the years to come human race will eventually get tired of being cut and divided  into so many pieces and then this matra of Being Human will be the sole race, sole sect, sole religion of the world binding it in the universal truth of love for one another. To end it I again thank a lot to Mr. Salman Khan for marketing this matra of -  Being Human- Come let us all start chanting it for the sake of world peace.
